Nashville recording artists and North Dakota's own, Kendra and Krista, combine distinctive talents to comprise the genre-bending duo, Tigirlily. Singing since they were talking, blending their voices was a natural step. In an astonishingly short time, the siblings have progressed from sharing in church to sharing the stage with national acts, and have been rapidly growing an international fan base via YouTube with over 5.5 million upload views. The sisters have continuously been writing songs since they were 10 and 12 years old, penning over 300 tunes. Diversely influenced and hard to box in, the pair have crafted a remarkable sound, appealing to pop, folk and country audiences alike with over 200,000 fans on their social sites. The duo have opened up for musical talents such as LeAnn Rimes, Big and Rich, Justin Moore, Chris Janson, Thompson Square, Love and Theft, Raelynn, and many more to now headlining their own Nashville produced, high energy shows with their band. Tigirlily debuted their first original album in February 2013 and put out a 2nd and 3rd EP in 2014. Their EP “Victory” charted at #33 in the Top Country Albums on iTunes and #4 on the Billboard Heatseekers (NW regional) chart. Their latest EP "Wild Creatures" which debuted on June 5th, 2017, charted at #14 on the iTunes Country Charts and at #5 on the Billboard Heatseekers (NW regional) chart.
Some of Tigirlily's other performing highlights thus far include performing at the Gramercy Theater in New York City, NY, the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN, The House of Blues in Dallas, TX, The Burning Hills Amphitheater in Medora, ND, performing at two ND Governor's Inaugural Celebrations, and the North American Special Olympics Softball Championship open ceremony. They have enjoyed singing the National Anthem at the PBR, World of Outlaws (racing), UND Hockey, NDSU Basketball and Football, Belmont Basketball, Lou City Kentucky USL Championship, Nashville Soccer Club, as well as performing for UND, NDSU, and MSU events. Spring of 2014, Tigirlily, along with their band did a Bank of North Dakota College Planning Center "Dollars for Scholars" ND school tour to help raise money for "Dollars for Scholars." In the Fall of 2016, the duo did another BND school tour to perform and visit with students about the importance of higher education and continued with two more school tours in the Spring of 2017 and 2018 called the "Step" tour, speaking with students of the importance of dreaming big, celebrating our uniqueness, and being kind to one another. Tigirlily also did the "Code for the Road" campaign for the North Dakota Department of Transportation discussing the importance of seat belt use after Krista was in a car crash in which her seat belt saved her life.
Kendra and Krista love being able to give back to the community with their love of music by being a part of Musicians on Call and performing for fundraising and benefit concerts. The girls were awarded American Patriot plaques for their support of our soldiers and veterans and were awarded best original country band, best song, best video, best stage show, and the U Rock awards (band that gives back) at the 2015 North Dakota Music Awards, best original country band, best song, best video, breakout artist at the 2016 North Dakota Music Awards, and favorite original band, favorite female vocalist, and favorite music video at the 2017 North Dakota Music Awards.
